Access to well-maintained public green spaces remains limited across many Nigerian communities. In Funtua, Katsina State, where TGAS Foundation has maintained an active programme presence, the need for a dedicated environmental and community space is clear. The foundation identified an opportunity to develop Thalis Green Park, a green space designed to serve both the university community and the wider public as a centre for environmental education, recreation and ecological restoration.
TGAS Foundation held a formal engagement with the leadership of Federal University of Medical and Health Sciences Funtua to explore the possibility of establishing Thalis Green Park on a proposed site within or adjacent to the university. Representatives from TGAS participated in discussions with university leadership to align on vision, site suitability and the path forward. A site
has been identified for the project. The conversation has since moved to funding mobilisation as the primary requirement for breaking ground.
